Collections (Call Centre & Customer Service)
The Revenue Cycle Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of the client by effectively managing the revenue cycle, including insurance verification, authorization procurement, billing, collections, cash payment posting, and more. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of healthcare billing and insurance processes. As our organization grows and opens new facilities, the workload is anticipated to increase over the next six months, making this role vital in maintaining smooth operations and financial stability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to handle responsibilities independently and contribute to the training of future hires as the workload expands.
Job Scope:
- Verification of Benefits: Enter client information into the practice management system and initiate electronic verification of benefits.
- Execute this time-sensitive task accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct follow-up calls to insurance providers for more detailed verifications, utilizing a provided form to ensure accurate information retrieval.
- Authorizations: Obtain initial authorizations through web portals or direct calls to insurance providers, adhering to established procedures to ensure timely authorization for treatments and services.
- Billing: Review claims for accuracy and errors. Address any identified mistakes and move claims from the practice management system to the billing platform. Submit claims to commercial and private payers. Manage the posting of cash payments and process credit card information.
- Customer Interaction: Answer private phone calls from clients and their family members, providing information and assistance with billing-related inquiries. Maintain a helpful and supportive approach, refraining from collection calls.
- Collections and Follow-Up: Initiate follow-up calls to insurance companies for claims that have been denied or paid inadequately. Collaborate with payers to address discrepancies and ensure proper reimbursement.
- Training and Collaboration: As the workload increases, actively participate in training new team members on accounts receivable processes, fostering consistency and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing-related inquiries and concerns.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree REQUIRED (finance, healthcare administration, or
- related field PREFERRED).
- 1-2 years' experience in healthcare billing, accounts receivable, or related roles.
- REQUIRED
- Prior experience in a supervisory or training capacity. PREFERRED
- Knowledge of insurance verification, authorization procurement, billing, and
- Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- PREFERRED
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, insurance representatives, and internal teams.
