The role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Underwriter (Non Life) to join our dynamic team at MANILA BANKERS LIFE INSURANCE CORP' in Makati City Metro Manila. As a full-time member of our Insurance & Superannuation underwriting team, you will play a crucial role in assessing and managing risk to support the growth and success of our non-life insurance business.

Key responsibilities

  1. Evaluate insurance applications and make informed underwriting decisions based on risk assessment
  2. Analyze relevant data and information to determine appropriate coverage, premiums, and policy terms
  3. Collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients to understand their needs and provide tailored insurance solutions
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
  5. Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines
  6. Provide training and mentorship to less experienced underwriting team members
  7. Continuously strive to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the underwriting process

What we're looking for

  1. Proven track record as a licensed underwriter in the non-life insurance industry, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
  2. Excellent analytical and risk assessment skills, with the ability to make sound underwriting decisions
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients
  4. In-depth knowledge of insurance regulations, products, and industry trends
  5. Proficient in data analysis and the use of underwriting software and tools
  6. Adaptable to change, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
