Quality and Compliance Manager

Basic Function

Responsible for overseeing the company's Quality Management System (QMS), Food Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Compliance programs to ensure that all products meet quality standards and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements. Ensures continuous improvement in production quality, process efficiency, and system compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000, and other relevant quality management systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate product quality through in-process and final inspections.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
  • Coordinate with production, R&D, and maintenance teams to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing and measuring equipment.

Compliance and Audits

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and environmental requirements.
  • Prepare for and lead internal and external audits (ISO, customer, or government).
  • Maintain and update documentation for Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Monitor waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives in line with environmental standards.

Food Safety and Hygiene (for food-grade packaging lines)

  • Implement and maintain GMP and Food Safety programs (HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.).
  • Oversee pest control, sanitation, and hygiene compliance in production areas.

Team Management

  • Supervise and train QA, Compliance, and Laboratory staff.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and compliance awareness across departments.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare regular quality performance reports and present findings to management.
  • Analyze customer complaints and coordinate resolution and preventive measures.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct supplier audits when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Food Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality and Compliance Management in a manufacturing environment (preferably paper or packaging industry).
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 22000 standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience leading audits and managing cross-functional quality improvement initiatives.
