Business Development Manager

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading and directing the development of strategies, plans, and initiatives for assigned projects in alignment with the overall company plan, goals, and objectives to achieve/exceed project milestones and set targets (e.g., revenue, profitability, volume, market share, etc.).
Additionally, as Business Development Manager, you will develop and deploy initial entry plans and marketing strategies to grow new businesses through market scanning and competitor analysis. You will build the organization's capability and capacity in executing with operational excellence and efficiency and develops gap closure plans.
ResponsibilitiesYour major responsibilities include:
PRE-LAUNCH
- Leads and develops the overall business strategies and plans for assigned new business projects based on industry and market gaps, business models, and competitive intelligence.
- Reviews and approves initial and side by side entry plans developed by subordinate/s and evaluates strategies for discussion with/approval of New Business Development Group Head.
- Provides thought leadership and guidance in designing initial marketing mix & positioning premise.
TEST MARKET AND LAUNCH/INCUBATION
- Ensures buy-in and support of the cross-functional team involved in test market and launch/incubation through regular communication and cascade of the initiatives and programs.
- Ensures that market test launch plans and strategies are implemented (i.e. promo, trade, penetration, display).
- Oversees strategic promo initiative planning, organizing, and implementation ensuring that business/project objectives are met.
POST-LAUNCH/POST-INCUBATION
- Reviews results of post-launch/test market reviews versus targets based on set performance metrics and develops preventive/corrective actions based on identified gaps and deficiencies.
- Leads the development of the revised/final marketing strategies, plans, and programs based on the results of test market and launch/incubation.
- Oversees and ensures the complete and proper turnover of files to the receiving team (either the existing team or if needed, a separate team).
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Leads people/organization development in areas of performance and capability development (performance improvement, training, capacity) & performance evaluation.
- Collaborates with and provides inputs to CHRD-Learning & Development for the effective and efficient conduct of training needs and competency assessment and development of programs to address identified gaps.
- Oversees and directs activities of direct reports in the achievement of short to long term business objectives, increased share, profit, and market leadership.
- Graduate of Marketing, Business Administration, or any related course. Preferably with advanced units or post-graduate degree (e.g., MBA, etc.) and training in marketing.
- With at least 5 years related experience and with at least 2 years in a Leadership/Managerial position in an FMCG company.
- With advanced skills in Business Analysis and Planning, New Product Development, Brand Strategy and Development, Brand Activation, Forecasting.
- Proficient in Business & Industry Understanding, Project Management, Financial Awareness & Business Profitability, Consumer and Trade Insight, Sales and Channel Strategy.
- Developing in Operations and Manufacturing Start-up Development, Supply Chain and Logistics
- With understanding in Key Account Management, Distributor Management
