Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Job Summary:
We're looking for a reliable and proactive Accounts Assistant with a background in accounting, business bookkeeping, to assist our internal Accounts team.
The role involves assisting with data entry, reconciliations, and general accounts admin, including support for trust and office accounting. You'll work closely with our Accounts Team and receive training as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Support:
- Data entry of invoices, receipts, and payments into the firm's accounting software.
- Assist with account reconciliations (bank accounts, trust accounts, petty cash).
- Help generate and format financial reports and summaries.
- Monitor inbox for supplier and client payment queries.
Trust & Office Accounting Assistance:
- Support trust account transaction entry.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly trust reconciliations.
- Help maintain accurate records of client funds.
General Administrative Tasks:
- Scheduling payments and monitoring due dates.
- Draft emails or correspondence related to accounts queries (internal/external).
- Attend virtual check-ins with the finance or admin team.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Studies in Accounting, Business Bookkeeping or related fields.
- Basic understanding of accounts receivable/payable and reconciliations.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with virtual supervision.
- Confident using Excel/Google Sheets and email (Outlook or Gmail).
- Reliable internet connection and suitable work-from-home setup.
Nice-To-Have:
- Prior experience in an admin or accounts-related role.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB) or legal practice software (e.g., Actionstep).
- Interest in the legal or professional services sector.
