Overview

We're looking for an experienced Outsourced Accountant based in the Philippines to support our growing portfolio of Australian clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Australian bookkeeping, payroll, and compliance, with hands-on experience using Xero and Dext.

You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely lodgements, and efficient day-to-day accounting operations — working closely with our Australian team to deliver high-quality outsourced accounting services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for Australian clients, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Process Australian payroll in compliance with Fair Work and ATO requirements (including STP, superannuation, PAYG, and leave accruals).
  • Prepare and assist with Business Activity Statements (BAS), IAS, and other statutory reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Xero ledgers, ensuring all transactions are coded correctly.
  • Use Dext (or similar tools) for document management and expense processing.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare month-end and year-end working papers.
  • Collaborate with Australian accountants and clients to resolve queries and provide timely updates.
  • Assist with management reports, budgets, and ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Ensure compliance with ATO, payroll, and accounting standards applicable to Australian businesses.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in accounting/bookkeeping for Australian clients (outsourced, BPO, or direct).
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero and Dext (Hubdoc experience also advantageous).
  • Proven experience in preparing BAS, payroll, and superannuation.
  • Familiarity with Australian GST, PAYG, and STP requirements.
  • High attention to detail and excellent communication skills (written and spoken English).
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple client files.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with accounting firms or outsourced service providers.
  • Certification in Xero or Australian Bookkeeping (highly regarded).
  • Experience using other cloud accounting apps (e.g., QuickBooks Online, MYOB, or Employment Hero).
  • Understanding of ATO portals and Australian compliance timelines.
