IT Supervisor for Systems Development

I. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Team Leadership & Supervision:

a. Lead and mentor the Systems Development Team on in-house developed and off-the-shelf systems

b. Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to enhance individual and team performance

c. Oversee system development projects and software development life cycle from system requirements, to systems analysis and design, testing, deployment, up to post-go live support, ensuring that scope, quality and timelines are met

d. Create work breakdown schedules and monitors project progress/status

e. Coordinate with cross-functional teams and concerned departments to ensure alignment of system solutions with user requirements

f. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team has the resources and support needed

g. In case of security incident/information breach, the IT supervisor reports to the IT manager immediately

  1. System Development/ Functional Support

a. Oversee the full systems development cycle of in-house programs and company website, including system requirements/specifications, coding/programming, testing, implementation/deployment, enhancements, training and documentation, ensuring that systems meet the business requirements and IT standards and security policies

b. In-charge of database administration of in-house systems, ensuring that backups are in place

c. Ensure the design, coding, and testing of new software applications and enhancements meet the business requirements and IT standards and security policies

d. Recommend system improvements to promote efficiency and productivity

e. Act as tier 1 support for ERP and other systems

f. Evaluate and recommend new technologies or development tools to optimize processes

g. Ensure adherence to development methodologies, standards, and best practices

h. Establish and maintain software development documentation, including code repositories, system designs, and user manuals

i. Ensure that initial testing, quality testing and user acceptance testing are carried out prior to deployment

j. Demonstrate system functionalities (using a prototype, if necessary), and conducts training to end users

k. Oversee the identification, analysis, and resolution of system issues and defects ensuring that tickets are addressed on timely basis

l. Collaborate with IT support teams/ administration team to address any system vulnerabilities/threats, system maintenance, updates to existing applications, upgrades and application of security patches to ensure that systems are secure, scalable, and perform efficiently in live environments

  1. Strategic Planning & Process Improvement:

a. Align with the management and other departments business units to develop long-term IT strategies and roadmaps for systems development

b. Analyze existing processes and workflows, recommending and implementing improvements

c. Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the team and systems remain effective and secured

II. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

a. Conduct in-house training and create manuals, as needed

b. Maintain SAP master data and other system data, as needed

c. Create system documentation and regular review of system/access

d. Perform other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

III. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

a. Graduate of Bachelor Degree / Information Technology, Computer Science or other related course

b. With at least three (3) years of experience in systems development, with at least 1 year in leadership role

  • Expertise in programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, PHP, JavaScript).

  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL).

  • Familiarity with software development frameworks and platforms (e.g., .NET)

  • Strong understanding of system architecture and application integration.

c. Proven experience managing development teams and overseeing software projects.

d. Skills in database management and administration, query language and development tools, such as Crystal Reports

e. Preferably with SAP background

f. Excellent troubleshooting skills

g. Skills in documentation, reporting, filing and presentation skills

h. Good interpersonal skills

i. Team player and be able to perform in high pressure work environment.
