Job Title: Computer Support Specialist

As a Computer Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical assistance to customers and team members. You will be the go-to expert for all things desktop related, from hardware and software issues to telephony and associated services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide telephone and face-to-face technical support to users regarding desktop issues.
  • Follow established procedures to respond to requests for assistance by providing information to enable users to resolve their problems.
  • Maintain accurate log entries of faults with resolution and contact details.
  • Maintain accurate log entries of all times whilst on shift.
  • Ensure all hardware/software installations and routine upgrades are implemented according to Service Level Agreements.
  • Provide the business with a professional service by ensuring requests are regularly updated and realistic resolution times are provided.
  • Provide an effective interface between users and service providers, supplying all necessary diagnostic information according to procedures.
  • Elevate technical queries not progressing to Network Engineers according to established procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing team training.


Requirements:
  • At least 2 - 3 years of relevant IT support experience coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Sound technical knowledge of desktop hardware and both standard and customised (in-house) software.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time management and communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple problems at once and prioritise issues.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Sound knowledge of the organisation's Standard Operating Environment (SOE).
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal
