Position Overview
The Business Unit Manager (Area Sales Manager) is responsible for driving sales performance, operational excellence, and profitability across assigned studios and digital retail projects. This role blends strategic sales leadership with operational oversight, ensuring that revenue targets, KPIs, and service standards are consistently achieved. The position leads Project Managers, aligns initiatives with company objectives, and fosters high-performing teams that deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Leadership & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Set clear sales objectives, performance quotas, and forecasts aligned with business goals.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to maximize performance.
- Monitor market trends and identify growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with marketing to create tailored campaigns that drive conversions.
- Analyze sales data to track progress, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
- Represent the company at industry events to promote products and expand market presence.
Operational & Business Unit Management
- Evaluate and manage Project Managers by monitoring performance, guiding initiative execution, and ensuring alignment with business and operational goals.
- Develop strategic plans for assigned accounts and digital retail projects to elevate studio performance, drive revenue growth, and optimize profitability across channels.
- Lead operational improvement initiatives through structured consultation, performance evaluation, and audits of workflows and practices.
- Create and execute data-driven strategies to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and digital retail excellence.
- Recommend and implement cost-effective, scalable solutions to operational and logistical challenges.
- Define and enforce performance standards across studios and digital retail teams, ensuring consistency in service delivery.
Performance Monitoring & Project Oversight
- Oversee team and individual performance monitoring, providing real-time feedback, coaching, and improvement plans.
- Manage sales and account performance, tracking metrics such as conversion rates, revenue targets, campaign results, and client engagement.
- Ensure the successful execution and tracking of digital retail projects, including managing timelines, deliverables, KPIs, and budget adherence.
- Provide operational support and leadership to Project Managers, solving studio-level challenges and improving outcomes.
- Ensure visual and audio excellence in all studios, maintaining brand-aligned merchandising and broadcast standards.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead recruitment coordination and onboarding in partnership with HR.
- Maintain ongoing training programs for sales and studio personnel.
- Mentor, motivate, and develop digital retail teams through coaching programs, appraisals, and structured development plans.
- Support conflict resolution, addressing staff concerns and client issues professionally and promptly.
Strategic Planning & Reporting
- Analyze market and customer data to identify trends, growth opportunities, and innovations applicable to retail operations.
- Oversee the creation and updating of training manuals and operational documentation.
- Prepare monthly operational and performance reports, summarizing project outcomes, key learnings, and recommendations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Live Host, Live Admin, Live Content, Creative, and Account Management teams to ensure operational synergy.
- Manage client and vendor communications, ensuring smooth coordination, satisfaction, and alignment with operational requirements.
- Perform ad hoc tasks assigned by senior leadership, contributing to special projects and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in sales leadership, area management, or business unit management, preferably in retail, e-commerce, or digital marketing.
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets and operational KPIs.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in sales reporting, data analysis, and project management tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
