Remote Accountant / Bookkeeper - for a UK Company

Pay: ₱55,000–₱70,000/month (DOE) up to ₱75,000 for the right person

Hi, I'm Fiona.

I run a small UK accountancy practice that grew faster than I expected. I love serving clients and doing the work — but right now, I'm carrying too much of it.

That's why I'm looking for one special person who'll jump in beside me — someone who can take initiative, figure things out without waiting to be spoon-fed, and help get the back office humming so we can keep growing.

You, in a nutshell

Who you'll be working with

This is a small, heart-led team — just me (Fiona) and my husband Rudi, who helps with systems and tech behind the scenes. We both work from home. It's personal, it's hands-on, and it's not perfect — but it's real.

You won't be just a number here.

What you'll do

• Daily Xero bookkeeping (bills, invoices, journals, bank rules)
• Reconciliations and keeping the GL tidy across clients
• Sole trader accounts — using our clean Excel template
• Ltd company accounts — within Xero (month-end, tidy working papers)
• Partnership accounts and Tax Returns
• VAT returns and Payroll support (training provided if needed)
• Catch errors early and keep things beautifully clean
• Communicate with us clearly and proactively
• And whatever else we throw at you — you're a problem solver

Must-haves

• 3–5 years bookkeeping or staff accountant experience
• Strong Xero user (Xero-certified preferred)
• Comfortable with Excel (templates, not formulas)
• Proactive, with good written English
• Able to self-manage and figure things out without micromanagement
• A laptop, stable internet, and a quiet place to work
• Heart, humility, and hunger to grow

Pay & Contractor Terms

• ₱55,000–₱70,000/month, depending on experience
• Up to ₱75,000 for someone who can take ownership of Ltd Company work right away
• Optional 13th-month bonus, based on performance and team growth
• paid days off per year (contractor allowance; not SIL or PTO)
• Paid monthly in PHP via Wise
• You will be a contractor, not an employee — you'll handle your own taxes
• Bring-your-own-device: we don't provide hardware (at least not initially)

Time Zones & Work Hours

We are based in the UK (7 hours behind PH time). We don't expect you to work night shifts — but we do need 2–3 hours of overlap each weekday for communication and file handovers.

Whether that means a PH 11am–3pm shift, or an evening shift that suits your lifestyle, we're flexible — as long as we can connect.
