Bookkeeper (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial operations for Turkey Burg Creative and a growing group of Canadian corporations (our partner companies). The ideal candidate will be meticulous, proactive, and possess a strong understanding of complex multi-entity accounting and Canadian financial practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Transaction Management: Accurately record and categorize financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries using QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Intercompany Accounting: Manage and reconcile complex transactions between multiple corporations, with a strong focus on tracking and documenting intercompany loans and transfers.
• Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation: Perform regular and timely reconciliation of all bank and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Financial Reporting Assistance: Assist with the preparation of working papers and provide support for month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Payroll Support: Process and record payroll entries, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations (Canadian payroll experience is a plus, but not required for processing).
• Document Management: Maintain an organized and complete system of financial records and supporting documentation.
• Communication & Collaboration: Work closely with the Canadian management team and external accountants, clearly communicating financial status and providing required documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Software Proficiency: Mandatory expertise with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is required. Experience with Microsoft 365 Office program will be considered an asset.
• Accounting Expertise: Demonstrated experience with a complex multi-corporation structure, including the routine handling and reconciliation of intercompany transactions and loans.
• Canadian Accounting Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Canadian accounting principles and financial reporting standards is highly desirable.
• Language: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Technical Setup: Reliable high-speed internet connection, a quiet home office environment, and personal computer equipment suitable for remote work.

Work Environment and Schedule

• Work Hours: This is a full-time position requiring availability to work regular Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours (e.g., 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST).
• Work Arrangement: This is a 100% remote position.

Salary

CAD $1600-$2000/month, based on experience and qualifications

Due to the sensitive nature of the accounting work and the requirement for knowledge of complex multi-corporation structure, candidates must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and skill. As a mandatory part of the application, selected candidates will be required to complete a series of online, unpaid tests covering accounting comprehension, communication style, and role-specific scenarios. Only candidates who complete these tests will be considered for a one-way video interview or a live interview.
