About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Bookkeeper to manage weekly bookkeeping, monthly accounting, and financial reconciliation tasks for our client. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel, and the ability to manage complex accounting cycles accurately and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

Weekly Bookkeeping:

  • Download reports from banks and financial institutions.
  • Post transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) using rules, matching, template imports, or manual entries.
  • Reconcile posted activity in QBO.
  • Reconcile weekly sales to payments received using Excel spreadsheets.

Monthly Accounting:

  • Calculate and file sales tax using spreadsheet templates and online government portals.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to close each month.
  • Review, reconcile, and adjust balance sheet accounts.
  • Review and adjust income statement accounts.
  • Finalize monthly close and prepare client-ready financial statements.

This role involves managing three main accounting cycles—weekly maintenance, and two monthly close phases—requiring precision, consistency, and a strong grasp of interconnected accounting processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using QuickBooks Online features such as rules, locations, classes, vendors, bills, customers, and invoices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
