The ideal candidate must have a strong foundation in the kitchen operations, be highly organized, and excel under pressure.
This role requires expertise in preparing and cooking a variety of pastries, while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and discipline in the kitchen
Job Title: Pastry Chef
Location: Talisay, The Garden Café - #44 Maginhawa Street, UP Village, Quezon City
Employment Type: Full-Time
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Leadership Management: Supervise the pastry and cold kitchen to deliver consistently high-quality food. Ensure smooth communication between kitchen and front-of-the-house staff to maintain an efficient workflow. Report employees to the Office of the management those who will not adhere to the company's policies
- Menu Development: Assist and propose in creating and designing exciting and seasonal menu that align with Talisay's concept and introduce new dishes that will delight customers.
- Food preparation and Quality control: Oversee the preparation and cooking of all dishes, ensuring they are excellent quality, flavor, and preparation.
- Inventory and Cost control: Manage kitchen inventory, order food and supplies and ensure cost control without compromising food quality.
- Training and Development: Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they understand kitchen processes, safety procedures, and quality standards. Provide opportunities for growth and development within the kitchen team.
- Health and safety compliance: Ensure all kitchen operations adhere to health, safety and cleanliness regulations, including food safety protocols and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaboration with the Management: Work closely with the management and other leadership team members to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and within the budget.
WHAT WE NEED:
Educational Requirements: Graduate of culinary, Pastry and Bakery, Food and Nutrition and Dietetics, Hotel and Restaurant Management or any related degree
Professional Training/Certificate: National Certificate II (Higher certification is an advantage) and/or Relevant training and certification in commercial cooking and baking
Working Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as a Pastry Chef, proven experience with pastry and baking, plated and fine dining experience
