Our sister company is need of a Project-based Baker for a two-month project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and develop a variety of baked goods and desserts suited for the dessert bar theme or event concept.
  • Prepare and bake cakes, pastries, cookies, tarts, and other sweet items according to approved recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Create visually appealing dessert displays and ensure the dessert bar setup aligns with the project design.
  • Manage ingredient sourcing, inventory, and portion control to minimize waste.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborate with the culinary and event teams to ensure timely production and setup of the dessert bar.
  • Experiment with flavors, textures, and plating to enhance the overall dessert experience.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation across all products.
  • Assist in packaging, labeling, and documentation of recipes for reference or future use.
  • Clean and organize baking and display areas before, during, and after the project.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a baker, pastry chef, or dessert specialist.
  • Strong knowledge of dessert preparation, decoration, and display design.
  • Creativity in developing new dessert concepts and flavor combinations.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of current dessert trends and presentation styles.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.

Educational Background:

  • Diploma or certificate in Baking, Pastry Arts, or Culinary Arts preferred.
  • Food safety certification is an advantage.
