
Purchasing Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing and importation strategies, policies, and procedures that align with company goals
- Source, evaluate, and select both local and international suppliers/vendors; maintain strong relationships
- Negotiate terms, prices, contracts, and lead times with suppliers—including handling international contracts and agreements
- Oversee the importation process: coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers; ensure compliance with customs, duties, tariffs, import laws/regulations
- Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders; verify invoices, deliveries, and goods received against purchase orders
- Monitor shipping schedules, lead times, and resolve delays or issues in transit or customs
- Track inventory levels and ensure timely restocking; avoid stockouts and overstocking
- Analyze market trends, vendor performance, total landed cost, currency fluctuations, and procurement KPIs to recommend improvements and cost savings
- Ensure all import documentation (bill of lading, airway bill, certificates of origin, etc.) are properly handled and compliant
- Collaborate closely with finance, legal, operations, kitchen/logistics teams for budgeting, forecasting, and supply chain efficiency
- Supervise and mentor procurement or importation staff (if applicable)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement with specific experience in importation and international sourcing
- Solid knowledge of international trade terms (Incoterms), customs & tariff regulations in the Philippines, import documentation procedures, shipping & freight forwarding
- Strong negotiation, vendor and contract management skills
- Experience in calculating total landed costs, managing currency/FX risk, and optimizing import costs
- Proficiency with procurement / ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with cross‑functional teams
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Experience in food & beverage industry or restaurant supply chains is a plus
