Job Description:The Microsoft 365 Systems Engineer is responsible for leading migrations, administration, and optimization of Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. This role oversees identity and access management through Azure Active Directory, enforces security and compliance policies, and ensures seamless integration with other business systems. The engineer provides end-user training, documentation, and technical support to drive adoption and efficient use of Microsoft 365 tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Microsoft 365 Setup

· Lead the migration of email, files, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Google Workspace or legacy systems) to Microsoft 365.

· Configure and optimize Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive environments.

· Ensure minimal downtime and secure data transfer during migration.

Identity and Access Management

· Manage and administer Azure Active Directory (user accounts, groups, roles, conditional access policies).

· Implement and enforce Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO).

Security and Compliance

· Configure and maintain Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center policies (DLP, retention, auditing, eDiscovery).

· Work with IT Security to implement threat protection, identity governance, and secure collaboration practices.

Administration and Support

· Manage licenses, subscriptions, and service accounts.

· Maintain documentation, knowledge base, and standard operating procedures.

Trainings

· Work with business units to maximize adoption of Teams, SharePoint, and other collaboration tools.

· Train end-users and IT staff on Microsoft 365 features and best practices.

· Ensure integration with other business systems (CRM, ERP, HR platforms where applicable).

Required Qualifications (mandatory requirements):

  • 5–8+ years of progressive experience in Microsoft 365 administration, including migrations, security, and enterprise-wide deployments.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams)
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Active Directory (user lifecycle management, group policies, conditional access)
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and bulk administration
  • Solid understanding of DNS, certificates, and hybrid mail/identity configurations
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365, DLP, and compliance configurations
  • Knowledge of data residency requirements and security best practices
  • Demonstrated success in migration projects (Google Workspace, legacy Exchange, or on-prem servers to M365)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to train and guide end-users effectively

Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-haves):

· Microsoft certifications (MS-102, MS-500, AZ-104)

· Familiarity with Intune/Endpoint Manager for device and application management

· Experience in enterprise or global multi-site environments

· Background in cloud operations or infrastructure management

Expertise across Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft Defender
