This is an exceptional opportunity for a detail-oriented bookkeeper to make an immediate impact while building a long-term role. You'll start by leading a crucial cleanup project, preparing year-end financials, and ensuring all accounts are perfectly reconciled. Once complete, you'll transition into ongoing bookkeeping responsibilities, becoming an integral part of the company's financial operations.
Job Highlights
Hourly Rate: PHP
Number of Paid Hours Per Week: Up to 20 hours per week
Schedule: Flexible during the client's business hours | Canada (Pacific Time)
Work Arrangement: Work from home
Contract: Independent Contractor
Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an "Independent Contractor," the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the cleanup and organization of existing financial records
- Lead the reconciliation of GST accounts and prepare documentation for year-end filing
- Manage daily transactions and maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online
- Process and track customer invoices through the QuickBooks system
- Develop and implement efficient bookkeeping procedures
- Create regular financial reports and updates for management
- Proactively identify and resolve any discrepancies in financial records
- Maintain open communication channels with leadership for quick problem resolution
Requirements
- Proven expertise in QuickBooks Online, with demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of the platform
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax requirements, particularly GST reporting and reconciliation
- Minimum 2 years of experience in remote bookkeeping roles
- Track record of successful accounting cleanup projects and system optimization
- Excellence in English communication, both written and verbal
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and dedicated home office setup
- Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication
- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems and digital collaboration tools
- Professional certification in bookkeeping or accounting (preferred)
