Overview

Join a dynamic finance team as a Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant, responsible for handling detailed bookkeeping tasks, payroll verification, and compliance with California accounting standards. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a US-based finance team in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Candidates must have a strong accounting background, advanced QuickBooks Online experience, and the ability to manage high transaction volumes with accuracy and efficiency.


Job Highlights

Monthly Rate: Php 40,000-46,000

Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Pacific Standard Time

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an "Independent Contractor," the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates, and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.


Responsibilities

  • Perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
  • Record all financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks Online.
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Process invoices and manage financial documentation.
  • Conduct payroll reviews, including second-set-of-eyes verification of timesheets.
  • Ensure proper recording of time off and payroll adjustments.
  • Maintain compliance with California-specific payroll recordkeeping requirements.
  • Support general bookkeeping operations and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on daily operational tasks.

Requirements

  • Accounting background and education.
  • QuickBooks Online certification and extensive familiarity (non-negotiable).
  • Experience with US accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of California payroll compliance and recordkeeping rules.
  • Familiarity with Gusto payroll processor preferred.
  • Senior-level bookkeeping experience with a hands-on approach.
  • Ability to manage high-volume and detailed transaction processing efficiently.
