Work Schedule:
Time Zone: CST (Costa Rica hours)
Full-time, 30–40 hours per week
Must be available to handle calls and emails directly with clients
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant with experience in Commercial Real Estate and/or General Accounting. This hybrid role supports a real estate broker and our internal team by managing transactions, lease records, document prep, and accounting workflows. You'll be the engine behind our day-to-day execution; balancing precision, communication, and discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Real Estate Support
Conduct market availability research and comparables
Coordinate follow-up tasks related to deals and tenant communications
Accounting & Reporting
Enter all GL, AR, and AP transactions accurately
Maintain records for lease inputs, insurance inputs, and audit trails
Manage broker inboxes for invoicing, approvals, and vendor follow-up
Reconcile bank statements and track receivables/payables
Generate standard financial reports, including:
Income Statement
Balance Sheet
Cash Flow Statement
Rent Roll
Tools You'll Use:
QuickBooks Online, Yardi Breeze
ClickUp CRM (Custom-built workflows)
CRE Platforms: LoopNet, Crexi, CoStar
Productivity Tools: Google Workspace, Loom, ChatGPT
Computer & Internet Requirements
- Device requirement: Computer must be supported by the manufacturer and eligible for current OS security updates.
- Performance requirement: Able to run Zoom video calls while screen sharing and 10+ browser tabs without lag.
- Minimum specs: Intel Core i5 10th gen / Ryzen or Apple M1, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, 1080p webcam, reliable WiFi.
- OS requirement: Windows 10/11 or macOS 12+ with ongoing security patches.
- Network requirement: Stable broadband 25 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up minimum.
- Compatibility: Device must meet the above specs. Equivalent configurations are welcome.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as an accountant/bookkeeper (real estate industry preferred)
Knowledge of double-entry accounting and standard GAAP workflows
Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and bank reconciliations
Experience using Yardi Breeze or other property management systems
Excellent English (written + spoken); confident with client interaction
Ability to multitask, self-manage, and follow SOPs
Strong analytical, documentation, and spreadsheet skills
