Alucraft Design Limited, an Irish based company with a Design Office located in Manila, has an exciting opportunity for a Facade Designer to join the Manila-based team.

As a façade designer, you will work closely with the team and team leader to provide effective, efficient, timely design solutions/information to architects and internal customers in conjunction with your project team, all in line with the budget.

Responsibilities

  • To determine resource requirements in conjunction with the project manager, design lead, and design office manager to accomplish programme deadlines.
  • To participate and contribute to the mobilisation of projects.
  • To provide design solutions & material specifications & quantities tailored to our production / outsourcing capabilities.
  • To identify and request at early stages of design the required information we must have to progress design, procurement, manufacture & installation.
  • Ensure all drawings are reviewed with project team before being issued to the architect to ensure compatibility with production/Schueco/ Alucraft established design principles.
  • Manage cost control so as budgets are being maintained. (Budget figures, handover files estimating sketches to be sourced from Estimating and filed in a cost control file).
  • To record & document information flow. (Drawing registers, RFI's, forward loads, cutting lists)
  • To assist and train graduates and interns in our methodologies & systems.
  • To provide information to our internal customers/colleagues in an agreed manner to allow them to use the information and work to the overall programme.
  • To keep up to date with and implement new technology.
  • To communicate difficulties experienced in the design process that will affect the programme of works with the contract's manager & the project team.
  • Be part of a Continuous Improvement Programme and create a culture of creativity and innovation to bring new or enhanced products and processes for both in-house use and to market.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Degree/qualification in related field or a transferable field
  • Experience in the industry - experience in the EU, UK or ROI marked is beneficial
  • Understanding of the software used, Autocad, Revit, etc
