  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management
  • Graduate in any Commercial Cookery related course.
  • At least 1 year experience working in the food industry as a Cook
  • Basic Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Mastery of cooking techniques ( e.g. grilling, sauteing, baking)
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Prepping ingredients efficiently (mise en place)
  • Teamwork & communication
  • Assist in basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping, slicing and portioning ingredients
  • Prepare mise en place for assigned station
  • Cook of finish simple menu items under the guidance of senior cooks or chefs
  • Follow standard recipes, portion sizes and presentation guidelines
  • Keep assigned kitchen station clean, organized, and well-stocked
  • Set up and break down station at the beginning and end of shifts
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and labelling of food items
  • Report any spoiled or expired products to supervisors
  • Assist in receiving, unpacking and storing supplies
  • Rotate stock and monitor inventory levels for restocking
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff and follow instructions from senior cooks or chefs
  • Communicate effectively to ensure smooth kitchen operation
  • Participate in training and development opportunities
  • Show initiative in learning new skills and improving performance
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
