Our clients depend on us to ensure that the relevant compliance is met in all things HR and Finance back office related.
A little around the person we are looking for:
· Knows payroll inside out. Understands their PAYG to STP2 and everything in between.
· Has at least four years experience in managing the entire lifecycle of a small businesses payroll from Employee Creation, Establishing Payroll Items through to processing payroll and STP2 Finalisation
· Has an attention to detail like no others. Payroll can be unforgiving in mistakes, so understands how to implement checks and balances to ensure as little mistakes as possible.
· Has experience in understanding the Australian Award system (albeit we have an internal HR team for deep understanding) to ensure correct entitlements are applied.
· Is prepared to challenge the established ways and break limiting beliefs of service delivering in the bookkeeping and accounting space
· Is passionate about technology for good. We are not a technology company, but strongly believe in the power of the existing technology to make our own professional lives better as well as that of our clients
· Is passionate about helping small business, which we see as the lifeblood of the global economy
· Understands Xero inside and out, we only use Xero with our clients
· Has an eye for detail around various aspects of Bookkeeping and isn't afraid to ask questions when they see something that isn't right
What you will be doing
· Preparing up to 15 payrolls every week from payroll item creation through to STP2 submission including superannuation, leave recording and various client reports that come with this.
· Working with the Partner, you will be preparing payroll for submission for review as well as reviewing other payrolls that are submitted to yourself from members of the team.
· PAYG reconciliation in preparation for BAS submission
· Reconcile bank accounts and other financial records meticulously.
· Prepare, issue, and process invoices and payments efficiently.
· Manage Single Touch Payroll (STP) reconciliations, finalise reports, and ensure compliance with superannuation requirements.
· Track bookkeeping workflows, monitor task status, and ensure timely completion of lodgements
A little about your background
· At least four years working in a public practice / BPO dealing with multiple Australian clients
· Strong understanding of accounting principles, employment-related taxes, payroll tax and workers compensation. Proven experience in preparing BAS
· Advanced skills in Xero with excellent knowledge of Xero's payroll processing.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
· Strong planning and time management skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities.
· Ideally used Asana, Slack, MS Office 365 applications
This is a full time, permanent role. Getting the right person on the bus is imperative and we want to ensure that you will be compensated fairly for your contribution.
