We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to lead our payroll team and ensure smooth, efficient operations across our multi-site workforce. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands-on experience to make a significant impact within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Payroll Management: Oversee and support payroll operations for a large, multi-site workforce, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Payroll Query Resolution: Provide prompt and accurate support to address and resolve payroll-related queries from employees.
- Collaboration: Partner with internal departments and external teams to align payroll processes with organizational needs and business goals.
- Employee Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll matters, offering clear and professional guidance.
- System Updates & Compliance: Assist with system updates, documentation, and adherence to compliance standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements and system enhancement projects to streamline payroll procedures.
What You'll Bring:
- Hands-On Experience: Proficient in using NZ payroll systems with a deep understanding of payroll processes.
- Knowledge of NZ Holidays Act: Solid understanding of the New Zealand Holidays Act and how it applies to payroll processing, ensuring compliance with all statutory holiday requirements.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Comfortable working with large datasets and extracting valuable insights to drive efficiency.
- Microsoft Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) to manage payroll data and reporting.
- Ability to Work Under Pressure: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proactive and Independent: Ability to take initiative, work independently, and effectively manage tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and clearly articulate payroll information to employees.
- Adaptability: Confidence in navigating change and supporting the successful implementation of new systems or projects.
