About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Head to join our dynamic team at Pacificrose Shipping Services Inc. in Cebu City, Cebu. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end purchasing function, ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials and services to support our logistics operations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to optimise costs, improve supply chain efficiency, and support the company's overall business objectives
  2. Manage the purchasing team, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to drive continuous improvement
  3. Negotiate favourable terms and conditions with suppliers, leveraging your expertise to secure the best deals
  4. Oversee the procurement of a wide range of materials, equipment, and services required for our logistics operations
  5. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to understand their needs and align purchasing activities accordingly
  6. Monitor and analyse purchasing data, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in purchasing and procurement

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the maritime, transport, or logistics industry
  2. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term supplier relationships
  3. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail and cost optimisation
  4. Proficient in utilising purchasing software and data analysis tools to drive informed decision-making
  5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  6. Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred
