Accounting Manager

As our Accounting Manager, you'll lead client engagements, manage junior staff, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of services. This is a hands-on role — from overseeing regular accounting functions to jumping into cleanup, catch-up, and system migrations when needed. You'll balance strategic thinking with detailed execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage full-cycle accounting for multiple clients
  • Lead and execute cleanup and catch-up projects to bring client books up to date
  • Manage system migrations (e.g., from Xero to QuickBooks Online), including setup, mapping, and reconciliation
  • Review financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries prepared by junior staff
  • Serve as primary client contact for accounting needs and deliverables
  • Maintain strong internal controls, checklists, and deadlines across accounts
  • Train, support, and review work from junior accountants
  • Collaborate with leadership on process improvements and client success
  • Perform ad hoc work as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA is a plus
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, including client-facing or multi-entity management
  • Strong experience with cleanup work, catch-up accounting, and system transitions
  • Advanced QuickBooks Online skills; experience with tools like Gusto, RAMP, Xero, or similar platforms
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing shifting priorities
  • Excellent communicator — written, verbal, and across time zones
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote team environment

Work Terms:

  • Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
