Key Responsibilities
Grill & Line Cooking
- Prepare and cook dishes, especially grilled items, following recipes and company standards.
- Operate grills and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all food is cooked to proper temperatures, consistently portioned, and presented well.
- Follow guidelines for portioning, plating, and quality.
- Work closely with other cooks and staff to deliver orders promptly.
- Keep track of kitchen supplies and inform management of shortages.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized station in line with food safety regulations.
- Assist with prep work, inventory, and other kitchen tasks as needed.
R&D Assistance
- Support in creating and testing new menu items or recipes.
- Provide input on taste, cooking methods, and plating during trials.
- Help record standardized recipes, procedures, and portion guidelines.
Commissary Operations
- Take part in bulk preparation and cooking for multiple branches.
- Ensure all products are properly labeled, stored, and meet food safety standards.
- Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist in stock rotation.
- Coordinate with kitchen leads to meet production and delivery timelines.
Qualifications
- Experience working as a cook in a high-volume kitchen (grill expertise strongly preferred).
- Knowledge of different cooking methods and use of kitchen tools.
- Skilled in grilling techniques, meat doneness, and safe equipment use.
- Ability to follow recipes and multitask under pressure.
- Experience in recipe development or test kitchens is a plus.
- Familiarity with commissary operations and large-scale food production.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
Work Schedule
- Full-time role requiring long periods of standing in a busy, hot kitchen.
- Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
