About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the talented culinary team at Zirconia Inc' as a Sous Chef. As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This is a full-time role based in our Makati City Metro Manila restaurant.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assist the Head Chef in leading and directing the kitchen team to consistently deliver high-quality, innovative dishes
  2. Take charge of kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring smooth workflow and maintaining the highest food safety and hygiene standards
  3. Plan and execute daily prep work, menu planning, and inventory management
  4. Train, supervise, and mentor junior kitchen staff to continuously improve their skills and performance
  5. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and a delightful dining experience for our guests
  6. Adhere to budgets and monitor food and labour costs to drive operational efficiency

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role in a reputable restaurant or hotel
  2. Formal culinary training or qualifications, with expertise in a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines
  3. Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
  4. Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail to ensure consistently high-quality dishes
  5. Passion for creating innovative, flavourful dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  6. Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
