About the role
Zirconia Inc' is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in our restaurant located in the heart of Makati City, Metro Manila. As a full-time Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service are consistently met.
What you'll be doing
- Overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen and managing a team of line cooks
- Assisting the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control
- Ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
- Providing guidance and training to junior kitchen staff to develop their skills
- Collaborating with the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience
- Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders to maintain adequate supplies
- Participating in kitchen and menu tastings to provide feedback and suggestions
What we're looking for
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role in a high-volume, fine dining or upscale casual restaurant
- Formal culinary training and a strong understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisine styles
- Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
- A passion for delivering exceptional food and dining experiences
