Role (Overview of the Position)

As an Accounting Specialist, you will focus exclusively on transaction coding and reconciliations for our diverse clientele. Accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness are critical to this role. You will be responsible for processing high volumes of transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Xero, applying bank rules to streamline work, and using available tools- including AI - to investigate unknown transactions.

Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Role)

  • Transaction Processing. Efficiently import and record bank and transaction data into accounting software (Xero, QBO or similar).
  • Account Reconciliation. Meticulously reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
  • Reconciliations & Analysis. Perform various reconciliations and analyses to ensure data integrity and provide insights.
  • Client Support. Address client inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process Improvement. Actively seek opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, leveraging technology.

Qualifications

  • Experience. 2+ years of accounting experience, showcasing a solid understanding of accounting principles and experience in performing various reconciliations and analyses.
  • Education. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Software Skills. Proficiency in Xero, QBO, or other similar accounting software. Experience with A2X and other accounting and financial software is a plus.
  • Tech Savviness. Comfortable with technology and eager to learn new software and tools.
  • Key Attributes. Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • E-commerce Experience. Familiarity with accounting for e-commerce businesses.
  • Adaptability. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new accounting software and platforms.
