We are a pioneering business seeking an experienced and motivated accounting professional to oversee our financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join our team as a key player in setting up and managing our accounting processes, financial systems, and controls from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend cost-saving strategies to drive business efficiency.
Accounting & Recordkeeping
- Supervise bookkeeping and ensure accurate and timely posting of transactions, reconciliations, and monthly closings.
- Maintain compliance with applicable financial reporting standards.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Monitor daily cash flows and manage payables and collections.
- Coordinate with financial institutions to ensure liquidity and proper cash management.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Present financial updates and reports to senior management.
Tax Management
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and filings (VAT, withholding tax, income tax).
- Coordinate with external auditors or consultants on tax matters.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Implement internal controls to safeguard business assets and prevent fraud.
- Support compliance audits and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Payroll & Procurement Coordination
- Review payroll inputs in coordination with HR.
- Monitor procurement of goods and services to ensure adherence to organizational policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field(CPA preferred but not required).
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of taxation, financial reporting, and internal control systems.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Knowledge of agriculture or livestock business is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
