Job Role

Patient Services Representatives play a vital role in healthcare by addressing patient queries and concerns, understanding patient needs through active listening, and coordinating information among patients, family members, medical personnel, and administrative staff.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming calls according to established procedures and departmental standards.
  • Provide assistance to patients with their inquiries and concerns.
  • Collect outstanding patient balances.
  • Support third-party entities, such as insurance providers, with questions regarding patient accounts.
  • Make outbound collection calls in accordance with procedure and departmental standards.
  • Assist patients with billing-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of protected health information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support department and company goals and policies.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality, adhering to good attendance and timely return from breaks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Preference for College Graduates or at least 2 years of college studies, with a focus on degrees and courses related to the medical field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in email usage.
  • Self-motivated individual.
  • Organizational skills, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
  • Dependability and reliability.
  • Team player supporting department and company goals and policies.
  • Flexibility with schedule requirements.
  • At least 1 year of call center experience related to medical accounts and programs is beneficial.
