Accounting Specialist Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our team. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable: Set up new vendors, collect W-9 forms, reconcile vendor statements, and protect confidential information.
  • Invoice Processing: Review invoices, perform 3-way matching, ensure proper GL coding, enter invoices, resolve discrepancies, and apply credits.
  • Payments & Scheduling: Maintain payment schedule, track and manage billings and payments for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Communication & Support: Collaborate with internal teams.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Payment Application & Deductions: Apply payments to invoices, verify deductions and credits, and retrieve remittance advice.
  • Reconciliation & Record-Keeping: Regular AR reconciliations, maintain AR records, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile online sales and bank deposits.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Review AR aging, monitor unapplied payments, and prepare customer statements as needed.

What You'll Need:

  • Accounting and Bookkeeping Experience: Background as an Accounting Specialist, Bookkeeper, A/R or A/P Specialist.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with accounting platforms and Excel/Google Sheets; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Detail-Oriented: High accuracy and precision.
  • Strong Communicator: Clear, professional collaboration across teams.
