
Commercial Strategy Leader

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead our commercial activities.
To ensure the success of this role, you will work closely with the commercial team to inspire visitation and engagement across all media and stores.
Your key responsibilities will include optimising campaigns, activities, and the commercial calendar to increase store and online traffic.
You will utilise your knowledge of the local market and competitors to secure a relevant range mix that maximises competitive advantage and broadens our customer base.
Additionally, you will present the IKEA range to reflect its width and depth, inspiring and satisfying the diverse tastes of our visitors.
As part of this role, you will view the store through the eyes of the customer and provide constructive feedback to improve the shopping experience.
You will also lead and evaluate the commercial planning process, influencing selling units to maximise opportunities and grow sales.
Analytical skills will be essential in applying deep knowledge of the IKEA range, national priorities, volume commitments, and market conditions to contribute to the business plan and commercial calendar.
Proactive coordination of national campaigns and high-potential activities, including market-specific initiatives, will be critical in ensuring availability and clear communication.
You will be responsible for securing volumes in line with IKEA business rules by collaborating closely with logistics and supply functions.
Furthermore, you will identify and develop new commercial potential through engaging activities, events, and campaigns.
Collaborative working will be required as you analyse activity performance to identify successful initiatives and use insights to improve future planning.
Sharing learnings and best practices with colleagues and matrix partners will be an important aspect of this role.
You will support stores in executing the commercial calendar, monitoring sales, stock availability, and addressing deviations.
Effective communication will be crucial in motivating store teams and encouraging ownership and accountability.
This role offers opportunities for growth and development as you take responsibility for your own personal development and seek support from managers and matrix partners to grow competencies.
Monitoring and analysing commercial activities and KPIs will guide you in achieving sales and profitability targets.
A key focus will be driving commercial performance through short- and long-term action plans that support sustainable growth.
National goals for sales, gross margin, store visitors, and other KPIs will be set and delivered, while supporting price deviation actions.
Optimisation of commercial opportunities for outgoing products and overstock will be achieved by minimising price reductions.
Focusing on cost control will involve working in a lean, simple, and cost-conscious way, encouraging continuous improvement.
