Project Manager Role

Virtual Assist seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator.

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to provide accurate and competitive bids.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings, project plans, and specifications.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor work.
  • Investigate historical data and pricing trends to improve the accuracy of estimates.
  • Conduct site visits to gather information from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain an updated database of unit costs, productivity rates, and supplier pricing.

The ideal candidate should have experience working as a Construction Estimator (3+ years preferred) and knowledge in estimating residential, commercial, civil, or industrial construction. Proficiency in estimating software is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present project proposals to clients.
  • Communicate with team members to coordinate project tasks.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with construction projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of project expenses and revenue.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure timely completion.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator (3+ years preferred).
  • Experience with estimating in residential, commercial, civil, or industrial construction.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating).
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with remote collaboration tools.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and permit processes.

Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
