Network Operations Center Engineer

The role of the Network Operations Center Engineer is to serve as the primary point of contact for alerts and requests, resolving technical issues with end-user devices, cloud technologies, and basic network troubleshooting.

This position offers leadership and career progression opportunities, enabling individuals to develop their technical skills and take on more complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Resolve alerts related to user devices, circuit downs, temperature/water alerts, Cloud alerts, and SOC alerts.
  • Respond to requests for after-hours maintenance scheduling, device/new customer onboarding, and other technical support tasks.
  • Communicate with vendors and customers as a point of contact; coordinate maintenance, repair, and patch remediation activities.
  • Conduct projects assigned by managers for the NOC and Support teams, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, update knowledge bases, create new articles, and enhance content to support team members.
  • Identify process improvements and recommend enhancements to drive better outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Desktop & Server OS.
  • Familiarity with currently-supported versions of Windows, with an emphasis on Desktop issues.
    • OS & App Patching, OS Upgrades, Failure Remediation.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Products & Technologies.
    • Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint/OneDrive, Exchange Online, Amazon AWS.
  • Experience with Identity Management, Authorization, and Security (Azure AD, Okta).
  • Skills in EMM/MDM tools (InTune, AirWatch).
  • Understanding of Backups & Disaster Recovery.
  • Expertise in E-Mail Technologies.
    • General Mail Flow Troubleshooting, Archiving, Retention, Compliance.
  • Knowledge of Proofpoint, Mimecast, Global Relay.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Networking concepts.
    • TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP.
  • Diagnostic toolkit in Layer 1-3 functionality.
  • Security expertise, including alert resolution from SIEM/SOC providers and Anti-Virus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse at a conversational English level.
  • At least 3 years of general IT experience, primarily in server, infrastructure support, and networking/circuits.
  • Minimum 1 year of NOC experience, including knowledge of ITIL-based Service Operations.
  • Passion for delivering consistently positive experiences to customers.
  • Strong diagnostic skills, with the ability to approach incidents logically and efficiently.
Desirable Qualities:
  • Experience working in MSP/Consultancy environments.
  • Knowledge of related tools such as OpsGenie, PageR Duty, PRTG; scripting with PowerShell, Automate Script, and Azure Functions.
  • Strong understanding of RMM tools such as ConnectWise Automate, SolarWinds, Nagios, CloudWatch, or Zabbix.
  • Able to design monitors to identify problem conditions in customer environments.
  • Able to design scripts to automate fault resolution.
  • Relevant degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+ or similar.
