Learning Experience Specialist

The role of a Learning Experience Specialist is to create compelling and effective learning activities, as well as engaging course content. This involves close collaboration with subject matter experts from various fields.

  • Apply established best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to identify the required learning outcomes and target learner populations.
  • Determine the most suitable delivery mechanisms (e-learning, virtual classroom, face-to-face etc.)
  • Establish clear instructional end goals and create content that aligns with them.
  • Visualize instructional graphics and user interfaces for e-learning products.
  • Develop learner interactivity (exercises, activities etc.) that enhance the learning process and learner experience.
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.)
  • Design modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course and attainment of knowledge and other specified learner outcomes.
  • Identify poor quality and/or outdated learning content and offer recommendations for improvement or replacement.
  • Maintain project documentation, version control and course folders

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
  • Working knowledge of multiple web design technologies and multi-media formats.
  • Visual design skills (e.g. Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts.
  • BA or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar relevant field.
  • Certification in Instructional Design (preferred).

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in instructional design and development.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and training methodologies.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and e-learning platforms.
