The role of Procurement Specialist is pivotal in driving our organization's success by ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing goods, materials, components, and services in accordance with specifications and requirements to achieve the most favorable cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Negotiating contract terms with key suppliers to guarantee value for money, quality standards, and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders as necessary.
  • Maintaining inventory safety stock levels based on standard usage, lead time, and forecast through the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tool. Ensuring a continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicating any supply issues that may impact operations.
  • Initiating the enrollment of inventory items in the system through collaboration with the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team.
  • Conducting vendor sourcing, selection, and accreditation, supplier audits, assessments, and performance evaluations in compliance with procurement policies and procedures, corporate Supplier Excellence Program specifications, and quality standards requirements. This includes local subcontractors and calibration laboratories for external services.
  • Establishing annual standard costs, providing analysis on costs, new and existing, and initiating cost-saving measures through negotiation, price breaks ordering, and localization of imported materials and qualification of new materials from other suppliers.
  • Processing requisitions, negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best available offer based on requirements, generating purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and coordinating Returns Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for rejected deliveries. Checking requisitions for completeness and clarity.
  • Developing innovative procurement processes.
  • Researching and evaluating areas of opportunity for cost savings. Undertaking research on and evaluating existing and new suppliers.
  • Collaborating, negotiating, and engaging with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies, and initiatives and advising on the impact of changes on procurement and production activities.
