
Business Development Manager

A Business Development Manager develops new markets and accounts and looks for business opportunities that will strengthen the company's profile, branding, network and sales. Prepares proposals, creates business plans and identifies possible financing for future business expansion. Seeks opportunities to introduce the company portfolio and its complete list of services.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesMarket Research and Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and emerging trends.
- Analyze market data and competitor activity to inform strategic decision-making.
Lead Generation and Prospecting
- Generate leads through various channels including cold calling, networking, and digital marketing.
- Qualify leads and prospect potential clients to understand their needs and preferences.
Business Proposal Development
- Develop compelling business proposals and presentations tailored to the needs of prospective clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create customized solutions that address client requirements.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, feedback, and requests.
Negotiation and Deal Closing
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to secure profitable business deals.
- Close sales and achieve revenue targets within specified timelines.
Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, industry influencers, and complementary businesses.
- Collaborate with partners to leverage synergies and expand market reach.
Sales Forecasting and Reporting
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports to track progress against targets.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on business development initiatives and outcomes.
- 5 years experience in business development, with at least 2 to 3 years managerial experience
- Previous experience in business development, preferable in a retail, logistics and ecommerce environment
- Proficiency in any warehouse management system, Microsoft Office suite & Google Workspace Applications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
