Job description:
The HR Officer must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The HR Officer (A Mancom Member) is expected to be knowledgeable about employment legislation and possess strategic and commercial insight into the labor process.
The HR Officer must be able to negotiate with diplomacy.
The HR Officer should display excellent organizational skills, good time-management skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
The HR Officer should also possess remarkable conflict management and decision-making skills to ensure employee compliance.
The HR Officer shall be responsible for the following:
1. Talent Acquisition
2. Compensation and Benefits
3. Training and Development
4. Timekeeping and Payroll
5. Counseling of employees
6. Other duties that may be assigned or delegated by the General Manager.
HR Officer Requirements:
a) Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Resources or any equivalent;
b) Additional training/certification in Payroll Management – may be advantageous;
c) Labor Relations certification – may be advantageous;
d) Experience as a Skills Development Facilitator – may be advantageous;
e) Able to engage in meaningful negotiation and resolution.
f) Knowledge of employment legislation;
g) Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
h) Protecting the interests of all employees; and
i) Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
