Role Purpose

The Legal and Compliance Manager ensures that Company's operations, policies, and practices comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards. The role provides legal guidance, manages compliance programs, and mitigates legal and regulatory risks to protect the company's interests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on contracts, agreements, and transactions, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, partners, and third parties to safeguard company interests.
  • Lead compliance programs, policies, and controls to ensure adherence to relevant laws, industry standards, and company code of conduct.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, assess potential impacts, and recommend proactive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments; implement corrective action plans where needed.
  • Support dispute resolution, litigation management, and coordination with external counsel.
  • Develop and conduct legal and compliance training sessions for employees to build awareness and foster a culture of compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, data privacy, anti-bribery, competition law, and other relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, Procurement, Operations, etc.) to integrate compliance into business practices.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports and updates for senior leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law; must be a licensed lawyer in the Philippines.
  • At least 7–10 years of legal experience, with a strong background in corporate law, compliance, or regulatory affairs, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or multinational companies.
  • Experience in compliance program management, risk management, and policy development.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine corporate, labor, contract, and regulatory laws; familiarity with global compliance standards is an advantage.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • High integrity and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
