Senior Development Lead

Dumaguete, Central Visayas, Philippines |  FULL-TIME | Onsite  |  Web Development  |  Graphic Design

We are seeking a highly experienced, technically skilled, and proactively innovative Senior Development Lead to join our growing IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a small team of developers and owning the technology roadmap for our organization. You will also work closely with our design and marketing teams to bring creative concepts to life through clean, efficient code.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the IT roadmap for the entire organization, proactively identifying areas for improvement and leading the charge to ensure projects are completed flawlessly.
  • Manage a team of three developers in our Philippines office, ensuring a productive and efficient environment with clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Regularly communicate with leadership in our US office and quickly respond to technical issues that arise.
  • Provides hands-on development support where needed, serving as a player-coach to help move projects forward with your team.

Leadership Qualifications:

  • Management Background:
     Experience leading a small to mid-sized team of developers (3–10 people), mentoring junior engineers, and creating a collaborative, accountable culture.
  • Decision Making:
     Confidence in making architectural decisions, process improvements, and technology choices with long-term maintainability in mind.
  • Agile/Scrum Expertise
    : Familiarity with agile methodologies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
     Ability to work with product, design, marketing, and operations to align tech initiatives with business objectives.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Full-Stack Development Experience:
     Proficient with popular development stacks, including JavaScript/TypeScript, React/

    /Angular, and PHP. Experienced in building a variety of applications from enterprise systems to responsive websites.
  • E-commerce Platform Knowledge:
     Hands-on experience with Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, or custom-built systems.
  • API Design & Integration:
     Familiarity with RESTful APIs, third-party integrations (e.g., payment gateways, logistics APIs, ERP/CRM systems).
  • Plugin Development:
     Ability to create customized plugins tailored to specific business needs.
  • DevOps & CI/CD:
     Understanding of infrastructure, deployments, version control (Git), Docker, cloud services (AWS/GCP), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Database & Performance Optimization:
     Experience with SQL/NoSQL, and how to optimize for speed, reliability, and scalability.
  • Ruby on Rails (NOT REQUIRED):
     Some experience with Ruby on Rails is a plus.
