Recruitment Officer

A Recruitment Officer with crewing experience focuses on sourcing, screening, and onboarding seafarers and other maritime personnel for various roles within the shipping or crewing industry. This involves managing the entire recruitment process, from initial application to placement on a vessel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Screening: Identifying and attracting qualified candidates through various channels like job boards, social media, and referrals.
- Conducting Interviews: Assessing candidates' qualifications, experience, and suitability for specific roles.
- Managing Recruitment Processes: Coordinating interviews, ensuring timely communication, and managing the onboarding process.
- Maintaining Databases: Keeping track of applicant information and updating crewing databases.
- Ensuring Compliance: Adhering to maritime labor conventions, STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping), and other relevant regulations.
- Liaising with Stakeholders: Collaborating with hiring managers, principals, and other relevant parties.
- Assisting with Crew Issues: Providing support to crew members regarding documentation, travel arrangements, and other concerns.
- Payroll and Documentation: Preparing crew payroll and managing necessary paperwork.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Prior experience in maritime recruitment or crewing is highly desirable .
- Familiarity with maritime labor conventions and regulations (MLC, STCW) .
- Proficiency in using crewing software and Microsoft Office Suite .
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills .
- Strong organizational and time management skills .
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team .
In essence, a crewing recruitment officer acts as a bridge between the company's crewing needs and the pool of qualified maritime professionals, ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the shipping industry
