Job Description

As an Estimator, you will prepare and analyze project costs, review blueprints, and ensure accuracy in all estimates. You'll support business operations by streamlining estimating processes, maintaining cost databases, and contributing insights that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

The Qualifications We Seek

• Preferably a degree holder in an Engineering or Architecture-related course (building, construction, or engineering industry)
• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience
• Experience in the landscape industry with both hard and soft landscapes
• Experienced in the use of MS Office - including Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.
• Previous experience with any take-off software to measure plans - Bluebeam preferred, not essential
• Experienced in using Benchmark Estimating Software or similar, such as Expert Estimation, etc.
• Strong technical skills & knowledge with a keen eye for quality workmanship
• Excellent time management & organizational skills with a strong work ethic

Your Daily Tasks

• Prepares work to be estimated by gathering quotations, drawings, specifications, and related documents
• Identifies labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and
• related documents
• Computes costs by analysing labour, material, and time requirements
• Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analysing information
• Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
• Prepares reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends
• Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Proficient in the use of computer software, including but not limited to Bluebeam, Foxit Phantom, Microsoft
• Office, etc.
• Maintains and keeps records of projects that have been submitted, along with following up projects for status
• updates
• Seeks new and innovative ways to streamline our estimating processes and procedures, including but not
• limited to, software advancements, documentation management, quote requests, etc.
• Assists in business management functions, entering in estimating data (from leads received and projects
• quoted) into the system to be reviewed in weekly team meetings
• Fulfills other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required
