Black & White Engineering (B&W) is a multi-award-winning engineering consultancy with nearly 900 employees across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Since 2007, we have been delivering world-class Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering consultancy services to clients around the globe.

As we continue to expand, our Manila office serves as one of our two global design hubs, playing a critical role in supporting projects across multiple regions. Our Finance Team is integral to this success—ensuring operational excellence, financial accuracy, and compliance across all entities.

The Finance Executive – UK & Europe role is responsible for coordinating and performing financial tasks in line with local reporting requirements, while ensuring alignment with group-level standards. Working closely with the local Finance Team, the Group Finance Team, and the CFO, this position supports the smooth running of financial operations and ensures the timely and accurate delivery of reports.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Accounting or Finance, with solid experience in Financial Accounting, and is capable of managing finance systems, overseeing project-related financials, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements in the UK and Europe. You are encouraged to propose process improvements and best-practice recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of the Finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Support – UK & Europe

  • Assist in administering account entries, financial documents, payments, and overall finances for the UK and European entities of the Group.
  • Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and other statutory or management reports.
  • Upload and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support the monthly financial closing process, including adjustments for prepayments, accruals, and depreciation.
  • Prepare and upload both external and intercompany invoices promptly.
  • Liaise with local authorities and statutory auditors to ensure compliance and timely finalization and filing of statutory returns.
  • Support the Group Finance Team in preparing reports for lenders and private equity stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external consultants to ensure timely filing of VAT and tax returns for UK and European entities, including the submission of required documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of proven experience in accounting and finance.
  • Prior experience handling VAT and tax matters for UK and European businesses.
  • Strong background and working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Microsoft D365).
  • Excellent report-writing and English communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively with global teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective in liaising with stakeholders, auditors, and relevant authorities in Manila.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
