Job Description

As a Bookkeeper, you'll manage end-to-end accounting processes for an Australian client-handling payables, receivables, reconciliations, and activity statements. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance, and supporting directors, senior staff, and clients through precise bookkeeping.

The Qualifications We Seek

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience in Australia (public practice or SME preferred).
• Proven experience in AR/AP, payroll, bank reconciliations, and BAS/IAS.
• Strong understanding of Australian GST, PAYG-W, STP, superannuation, and basic awards.
• Proficiency with MYOB Acumatica, Xero, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Certificate IV in Bookkeeping/Accounting or higher (preferred).

KPIs (Indicative)

• AR: Timely invoicing; debtor days within target; low unapplied receipts.
• AP: On-time, accurate payment runs; zero duplicate payments; ABA accuracy.
• Reconciliations: All accounts reconciled weekly; month-end completed on schedule.
• Compliance: On-time BAS/IAS and STP submissions with minimal adjustments.
• Quality: Accurate GL coding and quick query resolution.

Role Details

• Location: Work from Home (occasional Makati office attendance).
• Hours: Full-time, 7AM-4PM (PH time).
• Reporting to: Client's Financial Controller/Director and Archer Business Advisory Manager.
• Tools: MYOB Acumatica, Xero, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, banking portals for ABA uploads.

Your Daily Tasks

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Generate and issue sales invoices and customer account statements.
• Maintain AR records and documentation.
• Record transactions and allocate incoming payments.
• Investigate and resolve irregularities and customer queries.
• Prepare management reports (e.g., weekly debtors report; monthly/quarterly revenue by division).

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Enter supplier bills to correct GL accounts and tax codes.
• Verify and process payment runs; prepare ABA files for upload (validate vendor bank details).
• Produce weekly creditors reports; action approved payments per schedule.

Accounts Officer & Stakeholder Support

• Manage the client group's accounts email inbox.
• Respond to occasional requests from directors and staff.

BAS / IAS Preparation Support

• Confirm reporting basis (cash vs accrual) and align with ATO GST settings.
• Perform bank reconciliations and clear outstanding items.
• Ensure all transactions are posted to correct GL accounts and GST codes.
• Review aged receivables and payables; investigate unusual items.
• Ensure payroll journals are posted correctly.
• Review Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss for accuracy.
• Complete GST review, including prior-period adjustments where needed.
• Finalize activity statements and submit for review; prepare and lodge BAS/IAS.

Period End & Financials (MYOB Acumatica)

• Respond to queries from the attending accountant/staff.
• Input bank statements and prepare cashbook journals as required.

Other Tasks

• Maintain orderly electronic records, workpapers, and audit trails.
• Contribute to process improvements and internal controls.
