Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, procurement, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a local purchaser or similar role.

- Knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes, as well as supply chain management principles.

- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record keeping.

- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Proficient in the use of purchasing software and Microsoft Office applications.

- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, such as those related to procurement, contracting, and import/export.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify local suppliers and vendors, and establish relationships with them.
  • Evaluate supplier quotes and proposals, negotiate prices and terms, and select the best option based on cost, quality, and delivery time.
  • Create and process purchase orders for goods and services, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the information.
  • Track and monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available, and place orders in a timely manner.
  • Review and analyze purchasing data and trends, and make recommendations for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as production or accounting, to ensure smooth operations and timely payments to suppliers.
  • Handle and resolve any issues or disputes related to purchasing activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation of all purchasing transactions.
