About the role

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our talented culinary team at the Holiday Plaza Hotel in Cebu City, Cebu. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for the creation and production of a wide variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods for our hotel's restaurants and catering events. This is a full-time position and an excellent opportunity to showcase your passion for the art of pastry making.

What you'll be doing

  1. Developing and executing creative dessert and pastry recipes for our menus
  2. Overseeing the daily operations of the pastry kitchen, including inventory management, quality control, and team supervision
  3. Collaborating with the Executive Chef to ensure all pastry items align with the overall culinary vision of the hotel
  4. Providing training and guidance to the pastry team to continuously improve their skills and techniques
  5. Ensuring the highest standards of food safety and sanitation in the pastry kitchen
  6. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and incorporating new ideas and techniques into the hotel's pastry offerings

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a reputable hotel or fine dining establishment
  2. Formal training in culinary arts, with a specialisation in pastry and baking
  3. Excellent knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and flavour pairings
  4. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to ensure consistent, high-quality output
  5. Ability to lead and motivate a team of pastry professionals
  6. Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  7. Creativity and a passion for developing innovative desserts and pastries
