We are looking for an experienced Payroll & Invoicing Officer for an Australian Recruitment consultancy to support their temp payroll operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, loves payroll, and takes pride in getting the details right.

About the Role

You'll manage end-to-end temp payroll and client invoicing for a large volume of placements across Australia. From checking timesheets and processing payroll to preparing client invoices and ensuring everything balances perfectly — this role plays a vital part in keeping operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for temporary staff accurately and on time
  • Verify and reconcile timesheets and leave entries
  • Calculate PAYG, superannuation, and statutory obligations
  • Prepare and issue client invoices based on approved timesheets
  • Maintain accurate payroll and invoicing records in Astute Payroll and MYOB
  • Prepare payroll and invoicing reports in Excel
  • Respond to payroll and invoice queries promptly and professionally
  • Collaborate closely with the internal team to ensure all data is accurate and deadlines are met

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years' experience in Australian payroll (essential)
  • Astute Payroll experience (required)
  • Working knowledge of Xero
  • Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Great communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with invoicing or recruitment/temp payroll will be highly regarded
