Job Summary:

The Junior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with BIR and SEC requirements, and supporting management with timely and well-prepared financial data. This role serves as a bridge between the accounting staff and senior management, ensuring smooth financial operations and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations & Approvals:

  • Approve daily Purchase Orders for Gas and Petty Cash Vouchers.
  • Double-check and validate expenses, receivables, and payables.
  • Process supplier payments through NetSuite, particularly for international vendors.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Analyze and discuss monthly financial reports with management.
  • Prepare and consolidate monthly sales reports from all branches; send reports to the VP.
  • Prepare finance reports on agent commissions for the President and VP, as requested.

BIR Compliance & Tax Reporting:

  • Prepare accounting entries and supporting schedules for BIR tax return filings (e.g., VAT, Income Tax).
  • Submit tax returns to the General Manager for system payment processing.
  • Encode VAT releases (sales and purchases) from BIR records.

Receivables & Loan Monitoring:

  • Monitor branch payment receivables and forward updates to the President upon request.
  • Track loan payables and interest charges from banks; reconcile with bank statements as needed.

Regulatory Compliance & Filing:

  • Prepare year-end adjusting entries in NetSuite.
  • Draft financial statements for review and approval by the President and VP.
  • Submit General Information Sheet (GIS) and financials via the SEC online portal.
  • Monitor and coordinate the renewal of business permits and licenses (e.g., Mayor's Permit, BIR, Fire Clearance); coordinate delivery with the company messenger.

Bank Coordination:

  • Prepare necessary documents for credit line applications or renewals and communicate directly with bank officers via email.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA license is an advantage
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP systems is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and BIR compliance
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
