Job Summary

The Infrastructure and Network Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure. The role includes configuring and troubleshooting network devices, managing servers, ensuring connectivity across multiple sites, and supporting security and performance optimization. The Network Associate works closely with senior engineers to deliver reliable and secure network services to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Configure and maintain routing protocols (e.g., static routes, OSPF, BGP) to ensure site-to-site connectivity.
  • Set up and manage VLANs, link aggregation (LACP), spanning tree protocols (STP), and other Layer 2 technologies.
  • Support virtualized environments, servers (VM, Linux), and basic database administration as required.
  • Administer and manage DHCP, PPPoE, and IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6).
  • Define and enforce router-based firewall rules, access control lists (ACLs), and zone security policies.
  • Perform routine monitoring, security checks, and configuration changes to maintain network reliability.
  • Assist in fiber optic (FTTH) and wireless technology deployment and management.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide technical support and escalate issues to senior engineers as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with routing and switching technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, STP, LACP).
  • Experience with VM and Linux server administration.
  • Knowledge of FTTH technologies (e.g., OLT, GPON, EPON) and wireless networking.
  • Basic understanding of databases and PHP is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Good documentation, communication, and time management skills.
